Good morning. The Rowdy Girls are preparing to hit Nashville again for their semi-annual shopping extravganza.
Twice a year my Mother, sister and 2 cousins meet in Nashville to catch up and shop. My cousin Cathy comes from Hickory NC and my cousin Allison comes from Chattanoga, TN. Sometimes my niece comes too. We have stayed at a wonderful Hilton Hotel each time because it was close to shopping and dining and the service at this hotel are impeccable.
This weekend we are staying at another Hilton Hotel in Brentwood TN just south of nashville. We decided to branch out and find other places to raise the economy with our purchases...ha.
Anyway, I look forward to a great weekend getaway, I think my husband likes his alone do anyhting he wants weekend and everyone is happy.
Signing off, Rowdy Girl Sue.

Stepping Back in Time

Now that I have my web page finished it is time to get down to the art of Crochet.
A friend at work (yes, I do have another job) was at a garage sale a few weeks back and came across a crochet book that was first published in May 1946. She thought of me and bought it for a mere $2.00. The book is The Complete Book of Crochet by Elizabeth L. Mathieson. Although I was born in 1952, it was like stepping back in time. In her Acknowledgements she references each as Miss or Mrs. You do not see that any more.
The book has the most lovely glove pattern in it and I think I am going to try to make them. Of course I will be making them out of my Goldfingering in red.
These gloves remind me of the white “church” gloves I use to wear as a child, especially on Easter. I do not know why my Mother put gloves on me, except that maybe she thought I would keep them clean. I did for the first hour and then “the gloves were off”. Maybe that is where the term comes from. Well, here I am rambling.
My point is that this old crochet book brought up so many memories of the past when gloves and hats and crochet in general were made out of necessity, not for the love of the craft.

I did it!
I finally have my new web page up. I am so excited. This site will be so much easier for me to update. Now I can concentrate on my passion of crochet designing. My next goal is to be able to put my designs on the web where you can download them. Have a great day.

A new day, a new Blog
Good morning all. Today is my second adventure into the world of blogs. I am a newbie so be patient with me as I learn. I hope to post new designs and current projects in what I like to call my "yummy" crochet.
Today I am also taking advantage of the fact I am off work and I have 4 whole days to crochet and get my new web site up and running. Wish me luck.
I will try to post photos of completed designs as they happen. In the meantime look to the new Raverly for my designs to purchase.
